I'm gradually amassing a lovely collection of cupcake books, so thought it would be nice to post about them and share my thoughts. Sometimes it can be a bit, no a lot, disappointing to buy a book only to browse through in more detail at home only to discover that not one of them will be practical to bake! This book is just so lovely to look at, no, salivate over! I want to bake every single creation!
It includes 25 of Peggy's scrumptious cupcake recipes, each of which are served at the Peggy Porschen Parlour in London's Belgravia. I have to add, I've never visited, as it's probably way too posh for me! Peggy's recipes and methods are very straightforward though, and in no way intimidating, so they are perfect for home bakers of all levels.

The book has a beautiful hard cover and as well as plenty of classic recipes includes lots of baking hints and tips. Recipes include Vanilla Chiffon, Banoffee, Tiramisu, Salted Caramel, Red Velvet and more.
Lemon Meringue was my first choice from Peggy's book as it's my partner's favourite. You'll find this recipe with detailed pictures in the Recipe Index. I'm delighted to say the cupcakes were absolutely scrumptious and turned out exactly as expected. The recipe is very straightforward and easy.
Next up is going to be the Strawberries and Cream (a personal favourite) with mascapone cheese. These will be perfect for watching the Wimbledon final this weekend :)
The book retails at just £6.99 which I think is great value (probably cheaper on Amazon) as I will definitely be baking my way through all 25 recipes... yum!
